Unforgettable Stay at MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle – Perfect for Families! We had an amazing experience staying at MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle. From the moment we checked in, the staff was incredibly warm, helpful, and accommodating. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Nijo Castle and near public transport, which made exploring Kyoto super easy. The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed for families or groups. We loved having a kitchen and dining area, especially while traveling with kids. It really felt like a home away from home. What really stood out was how family-friendly everything was. The hotel Japanese-style seating area, and other thoughtful touches that made our stay extra comfortable. There's also a laundry room which was super convenient for longer stays. There are convenience stores, restaurants, and even a 7-Eleven nearby, making late-night snacks and quick meals easy. The area is peaceful but still close enough to Kyoto’s main attractions. If you're visiting Kyoto with family or a group, I can’t recommend MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle enough. It was one of the best parts of our trip!

Staff is beyond first class. They are helpful, proactive and very kind. They were so helpful when one of our kid's was injured. They called around and made an appointment for us on a Sunday, when most places were closed. We didn't ask them to do this, they took it upon themselves. They located a wheelchair for us at another Mimaru, which they let us borrow for free for the duration of our stay. They even offered to swap crutches with us, when we couldnt find a matching pair after looking for one at 3 different locations. I can't thank the staff enough for all their help. Room was beautiful. Washing machine works very well, including the dryer setting.

My stay at this hotel in Kyoto was exceptional—truly the best hotel experience I’ve had in Japan! The rooms were incredibly spacious and thoughtfully equipped, featuring a washing machine and dryer, a fully functional kitchen, and even a traditional tatami area that added an authentic touch to the stay. Everything was impeccably clean, and the staff went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, even assisting us with luggage transfer services to our next hotel, which made traveling so much easier. They also provided us with helpful guides to explore Kyoto, which was a thoughtful gesture. I’ll definitely choose Mimaru Hotels again for future stays. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Japan!

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful, though provided generic responses to questions like recommendation to restaurants. Bathroom and laundry facilities were clean and spacious. The washing machine, dryer allowed us to catch up on some washing during our trip. The room was sizable, and the beds were comfortable and soft.

Great location and great facilities for a family. We stayed here for 4 nights. Buses were easy to catch on the street. The nearest train station is 10 mins walk. The room itself is spacious enough for a family of 4. We got the room with the bunkbeds. The bedroom is separated from the living area. They have games for the kids. There is a bingo game for the kids to earn a reward. The staff all spoke English and were very helpful. Highly recommend for families.
